Product Features:
After a long time coming PMM is proud to release my Left handed shooters Rear QD mount.
With countless revisions and feed back, PMM opted to design and produce a rear QD sling mount that mounts seamlessly into the LH rear factory sling point using a precisely fitting shoulder bolt that indexes into the factory rear sling mount holes and keep the mount locked in place from moving.
Why no option to have the sling mounted with the stock folded?
Faced with coming up with a solution that met the practical requirements of a left handed shooter and still having the stock fold for storage while slung I opted to go the real world route and here is why.
If you are actually using your rifle as a left handed shooter you are not going to be carrying it around on your chest with the stock folded. In my opinion it’s in your your best interest to have the rifle as “ready” to go as possible, deploying a folded stock then shouldering it to fire is not ready to go.
Couldn’t you have easily just moved the Mount forward or up so it can fold?
Absolutely! However moving the mount forward would add additional stress on the pinch bolt design and moving it up just to clear the stock present a more problematic scenario.
With the rifle slug across your chest in the low ready position and the sling tight you will find the sling contacting your face during in the firing position, keeping the mount as low as possible and tight to the rifle helps mitigate this issue. having it higher only amplifies this issue and could also impede your right eye’ in a “both eyes open ” shooting situation.

I ordered all 3 Scar QD mounts, front left / rear left / and ambi stock. I had issues with the rear left, PMM said it was the shoulder bolt that was the culprit, so they said they would send me the new improved bolt and the new rear left mount also! I received it very quickly but alas the same issue reared it’s ugly head, it may very well be the manufacturing tolerances are a little relaxed in that area of my Scar Heavy, their other mounts were spot on and very nicely machined. I will not bother PMM again, they stepped up and did their part, they sent me a spare rear left QD mount, I’ll just make my own new threads when I install it, they sent me a spare! I would buy from them again in a heartbeat, they are a first class outfit!

I have bought just about every PMM QD mount that they offer for my SCARS. Have bought both left and right-handed mounts as one of my sons is a lefty and the guns will be theirs one day. They are easy to install (PMM provides everything you need including wrench and loctite) and are solid as a rock. They look like they came with the rifles from FN. Beautiful work and highly functional. Buy them!

I ultimately decided to keep the scope of this reviewed narrowed to the application of the product of itself. To that end, it fits exactly right. Solid, without damaging the rifle. So five stars. Penalizing a product for stuff outside that is something I hate seeing with a manufacturer doing good work on niche stuff.
I went with locking front, rotating back, as recommended. I like two point. And I’m left handed.
Now for the stuff that is out of scope. There are a couple things you might not be able to know until you’ve messed with this setup. The first is that you may need to have the sling a bit loose in order to be able to shoulder the weapon. Loose is a subjective word, used here to describe where the butt of the scar isn’t going to tend to want to ride high around your collarbone. This may not be a affect or be undesirable to you, or it may effect you to the point that you need to go with a sling solution where you thread through your back sling point through the rifle’s stock. I haven’t made up my mind yet. I seriously like moving one qd sling around my weapons.
The second thing I’m iffy about is likewise inherent to the rifle. The left side back doesn’t have a lower sling point like the right side, due to the butt folding. As such, the sling is in your face when you should the rifle. For a cheek weld, you have to push your chin down into the slack of the sling. Or I do, anyway. It’s not an unnatural movement. But it’s not awesome. This is true with the qd from PMM or mash hooks. And again, using the rear stock loop instead suggests itself as remedy.
If I’m being honest, I’m probably going to switch to the stock loop for the backend and use the qd on the front. And I’ll leave the back qd in place because it suits the rifle well and might work if I ever mess with single point carry.
Happy shooting.

Beautiful finish and accurate machining. Subtle logos make it even more appealing; too many makers make their logos overt and obtrusive.
Installation was easy and the part seems very sturdy. QD sling fits very well with secure and tactile feedback from the mount. Very satisfied
